Delhi Nihari Recipe
Delhi Nihari is a classic, royal and rustic touch to it. Have it with a hot and crispy naan to enjoy it to the fullest!
Ingredients:
- shank meat (boiled) 1 kg
- Nalli (boiled) 4
- Star anise 4
- Cardamom 4
- Dried ginger 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Tartaric acid ½ tsp
- Cumin 2 tsp
- Nutmeg ½ tsp
- Mace ½ tsp
- Nihari masala 3 tbsp
- Coriander powder 2 tsp
- Red chili powder 2 tsp
- Fennel seed 2 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Wheat flour 4 tbsp
- Onion 1
- Oil 1 cup
- Chicken stock 2 cups
Method:
Grind star anise, fennel seeds, dried ginger, cumin, nutmeg, mace and cardamom in a grinder then sieve them. Now add red chili powder, salt, nihari masala, coriander powder, turmeric, ginger garlic paste and tartaric acid then mix well. Heat oil add mutton and half spices then sauté them well. Now add stock and dissolved wheat flour and cook for half an hour. When it gets thick then turns off the flame. Now heat oil and fry onion till golden brown then add half masala and give sizzling effect on nihari. At end add nail and serve.
